Enlargement project for the Puerto Madryn primary aluminium smelter production capacity
On June 24th 2007 we started the enlargement project set up process - Stage I - of our primary aluminium smelter located in Puerto Madryn - Province of Chubut. For the second 2008 quarter, we will achieve the design production lever forecasted for this stage of the project.
The former President of Argentina, Dr. Néstor Kirchner, and other key governmental officers attended, on September 3rd 2007, the inauguration ceremony of the Aluar enlargement project. We can say that this project is the most significant private undertaking ever carried out in our country, in the last years, with a 950 million dollars invertment.
